Under the Midnight Sun

Inspired by a French friend, Liisa Rasimus decided to write a book about Finnish food and lifestyle; about how food is naturally connected to different situations and events in life, both in everyday life and at parties. We can go to the summer cottage to smoke fish, heat up the sauna, cook crabs and eat berries with the bear. We go to the autumn forest to pick mushrooms and deer hunt. We participate in the preparation for Christmas by baking peppers and carving salmon. ,[object Object],We experience winter by spending the New Year on an icebreaker, skiing and swimming in the open. We travel around Finland in different seasons, and taste delicacies both in Helsinki and in Lapland under the midnight sun. Childhood food memories enrich the taste journey. Liisa Rasimus' husband, Tapio Rasimus. His wonderful food and landscape photos make a food book about Finnishness an unforgettable experience.
