Yang Liu uses her wonderfully apt pictograms to display the discordances between American and European customs with wit and wisdom. Yang Liu was born in Beijing in 1976. After studying at the University of the Arts Berlin, she worked as a designer in Singapore, London, Berlin and New York. In 2004 she founded her own design studio, where she still works today. In addition to workshops and lectures at international conferences, she has taught at numerous international universities. Since 2010 she has been appointed professor at the Berlin Technical Art Academy. Her work has received several awards in international competitions. They have been exhibited in museums around the world and included in the collections.
